My mission in politics is to represent the silent majority in Irish society who are being ignored by the government and opposition parties. A cosy consensus in politics has stifled debate and led groupthink to emerge on a number of key issues from housing, health. crime, and immigration. I offer a fresh voice in Irish politics and am unafraid to challenge this consensus, be it my policies on rural Ireland and saving the family farm or putting local needs first in Offaly.

Throughout my career, I have concentrated on helping the marginalised in our society. Disability and education issues are very close to my heart and have defined my career as a school teacher. I have carried this passion into the Dáil since my election in 2016. As an independent TD in Offaly, I work for you – not a party whip or the interests of large backers. There needs to be a place in national politics for community-led change and this can best be achieved through local non-party leadership.
